Salma SARY (Morocco)

Salma Sary is a director and screenwriter whose work explores themes of identity, resilience, and liberation. She crafts thought-provoking visual narratives that challenge conventions and reclaim stories often left untold. She is also a member of the Ghriba Gaze collective, a group of moroccan women storytellers dedicated to to reclaiming narratives through storytelling.

Shaeera Kalla (South Africa)

Shaeera is a filmmaker drawn to the ever-evolving relations between all forms of kinship spanning the cosmos. Her work explores how landscapes hold memory, continuously shaped by those who pass through them. She is especially interested in port cities. She recently completed the Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris program for emerging producers in France and Germany, which equips independent filmmakers with experience and knowledge around setting up international co-productions. She is now focusing on her own writing and directing. She holds an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford and a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Wits University and is currently dreaming, serving and creating in South Africa.
